SECO® introduces Qseven™ Form Factor featuring Freescale™ i.MX51 processor
SECO® presents the QUADMO747-X/i.MX51module – based on the latest Freescale i.MX51 based on ARM® Cortex A8™ Platform.
Nürnberg, Embedded World 2010, 2nd to 4th March, 2010: Today SECO® unveiled its first module based on Freescale’s i.MX51 processor based on ARM® Cortex A8™ technology.
This processor will be mounted in a Qseven™ form factor.
SECO® is targeting this platform to those application fields that usually integrate RISC architectures and need ultra low power consumption.
Mobile Internet Devices, Digital Signage and Home Entertainment Devices, Gaming Consoles, Security & Surveillance will benefit from high performance processing and multimedia capabilities, video and graphical hardware acceleration that enables very low power consumption, and a high level of integration to reduce total number of components, and, consequently, global costs. Another advantage is that the connection between the module and the input-output ports present on the carrier is achieved through a defined pin-out on MXM connector that is 95% compatible with standard Qseven™ modules.
SECO® QUADMO747-X/i.MX51 module brings the capabilities offered by a powerful ARM processor in a Qseven™ form factor solution.
- The Freescale i.MX51 processor based on ARM® Cortex A8™ technology operates at speeds up to 800 MHz. Delivers rich embedded graphics as OpenGL ES 2.0 3D accelerator, OpenVG 1.1 accelerator, Neon SIMD media accelerator and vector floating point co-processor.
The i.MX51 drives displays up to WXGA (24-bit primary display and 18- bit secondary display) with Multi-format HD720 video decode and TV output.
- SECO® QUADMO747-X/i.MX51 will also feature up to 512MB DDR2 on board, 1 SATA, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 2 COM interfaces, 3 x 4-bit ports for SD Card, 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, LPC, SPI , SMB and One-Wire buses, AC’97 and I2S Audio interface, 1 x Camera connector.
- SECO® will provide boot loader BOARD SUPPORT PACKAGE (BSP) and API Pack that allow the user to run immediately the module with an OS (Linux and/or Windows CE).
